Day 2 - Project Setup and Opening Ceremony

The team had the luxury of getting ready for breakfast as late as 8am today, although many of them were already up and about before 7.  It was off to breakfast, and then a leisurely pace as we had plenty of time to set up our project boards and look around the campus.

The Team's rooms are on the 5th floor...
The weather as cooperative, it was sunny (although rather chilly!)  Yet still a good day to walk around campus.

None of us was particularly sure of where the Project Exhibit Hall was on campus, so Alex became our leader as he looked up the location on the CWSF App...  unfortunately digital certainty did not translate into real-world certainty.

Once we did finally arrive at the Exhibit Hall, it was time for project setup.  Everything proceeded smoothly, from the "unrolling of the projects" to attaching the posters to the display backboard panels.  All the projects look great!!

After a quick run back to the Residences for lunch, in the afternoon it was time for presentation practice.  Some of the Team practiced their presentations with past CWSF alumni volunteers, and then we all came back to the Exhibit Hall to practice our short and long presentations to each other.

Oh, and some intense Pin Trading!
At 5pm it was time for all students to gather for the Opening Ceremonies ... a Montreal folk music introduction, and then we led by Pipes and Drums in to the McConnell Arena for the "Flavours of Montreal" Welcome Event.

More Drummers at the Welcome Event!
There was food and entertainment at the Welcome Event, but everyone was pretty tired, and soon it was back to the Residence.  Dan led the team through some final remarks and reminders for judging day, and then it was off to bed for everyone ... tomorrow will be a busy day, with breakfast at 7:10am and Project Judging beginning at 8:30am.  Time to get some sleep!
